DaimlerChrysler to Sell Record Number Of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Company Says

DaimlerChrysler AG will sell a record number of Mercedes-Benz trucks this year, offsetting a collapse in demand in the United States, as construction companies in Europe seek more vehicles.

"These are really, really good times in the industry," Hubertus Troska, head of the Mercedes-Benz truck division, said in an interview at DaimlerChiysler's Stuttgart, Germany, headquarters. Mercedes-Benz will sell more in 2007 than the record 147,984 trucks delivered in 2005, he said.
