Daimler Truck-Finance Unit to Stay Intact; Chrysler Sale Will Not Affect It, OEM Says

DaimlerChrysler Financial Services Americas said it will keep its 400 corporate support employees for the company's Mercedes-Benz Financial and Truck Financial business units in the Detroit area after the sale of Chrysler Financial's business unit to Cerberus Capital Management is finalized later this year.
DaimlerChrysler Financial said it studied but rejected the idea of moving its corporate staff in the Detroit area to other company locations near Chicago or Dallas.
"Basically we made the decision to keep our employee team intact, our talent base," Jack Ferry, a spokesman for the original equipment manufacturer, told transport topics.
