BAX, Schenker Unveil Service Between New Jersey, Toronto

Logistics provider BAX Global, Irvine, Calif., together with the Canadian arm of sister company Schenker Logistics, said it is now offering a next-day, ground delivery service between Newark, N.J., and Toronto.

The companies said they are offering the service as an alternative to more expensive overnight air delivery.

"The new dedicated ground service is priced less than comparable overnight air shipments," John Bastiani, vice president of service and network operations for the eastern division at BAX Global, said in a July 12 statement.

Both BAX Global and Schenker, which rank No. 8 on the TRANSPORT TOPICS list of the 50 largest U.S. and Canadian logistics companies, are part of Deutsche Bahn, a railroad company partially owned by the German...
