Schneider, Menlo Buy Chinese Firms To Expand Logistics Business in Asia

Schneider Logistics and Menlo Worldwide LLC, two major U.S.-based logistics companies, announced purchases of logistics firms in China.

Schneider said its purchase was aimed at expanding services to the domestic Chinese market, while Menlo said its expanded operations will serve not only the internal Chinese market but also the growing Asian trade and Menlo's international customers.

Schneider Logistics (Tianjin) Co Ltd., the Chinese subsidiary of Schneider Logistics, said Sept. 10 that the company has purchased the operating assets of China-based BaoYun Logistics. Schneider Logistics ranks No. 3 on the TRANSPORT TOPICS 50 list of the largest logistics companies in North America.
