NTDC Competitors, Family, Friends and Spectators Give Back to Minnesota

Transport Topics, September, 2007 by Anonymous

The National Truck Driving Championships rolled into Minneapolis this year embracing the state that has been hard hit with tragedy over the past month with the collapse of the I-35W bridge and severe flooding in the Southeastern part of the state.

Off the championship floor, the focus was giving back to the Minnesota communities in need. The American Red Cross and Second Harvest Heartland were chosen as the recipients of the trucking industry's support. Spearheading the charity efforts, America's Road Team Captains thanked those who donated to either charity with a 2007 National Truck Driver Appreciation Week travel mug.

The NTDC family donated 86 units of blood to the American Red Cross and collected $5,000 for Second Harvest Heartland.
