Bendix Donates $1,000 To Case Western Team

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, a manufacturer of braking and safety systems, said it recently donated $1,000 to the Case Western Reserve University's DARPA Urban Challenge team.
DARPA, or the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, is the research arm of the U.S. Department of Defense.
The donation will help the team prepare for the semifinals of the $3.5 million DARPA Urban Challenge National Qualification Event, which features autonomous ground vehicles conducting simulated military supply missions in a mock urban area.
The event is scheduled for Oct. 26-31 in Victorville, Calif.
The contest requires "DEXTER," Case's autonomous robotic vehicle, to perform on a 60-mile urban-area course.
