3PLs Xpedx, Geodis Form an Alliance

Transport Topics, October, 2007 by Anonymous

Third-party logistics provider xpedx, Loveland, Ohio, said it has entered into a strategic alliance with 3PL Geodis, Paris.

The alliance will help xpedx and Geodis expand their services and geographic reach, the companies said in a Sept. 17 statement.

The companies said they will offer air, sea and multimodal logistics services, besides asset and inventory management and reverse-logistics services.

"We will provide Geodis comprehensive geographical coverage and extended logistics service for their customers throughout the U.S.," said Dan Watkoske, vice president of sales for xpedx. "They, in turn, will provide the same for our customers with operations outside the U.S."

The companies had about $12.1 billion in combined revenue in the 2006 fiscal year.
