UPS to Offer 98 Countries Paperless Shipping To Help Small Businesses Export More Goods

Package delivery giant UPS Inc., Atlanta, said it will offer paperless international shipping to 98 countries to encourage smaller businesses to send more goods across borders.
UPS said it will provide electronic processing of customs forms to eliminate the documentation errors that it said are the leading cause of delays in global shipping.
Packages that cross borders generate the most revenue per shipment for UPS.
UPS' first-half revenue from overseas shipments rose 11% to $4.89 billion, or 20% of total sales.
"International shipping is now a significant growth engine for UPS," said Kurt Kuehn, UPS' senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, during an Oct. 2 conference call.
