Apr. 23--MUMBAI, India -- The Bombay high court on Thursday stayed criminal proceedings against actor Priyanka Chopra pending before an Andheri metropolitan magistrate.
Prashant Jaju and PG Shrikant had accused the former Miss World of criminal breach of trust and cheating them of about Rs 70 lakh and Rs 20 lakh respectively.
Justice V M Kanade stayed the proceedings after Chopra moved the high court for quashing the complaints.
Jaju had complained that Chopra had violated the contract by giving him a shorter notice period and had thus committed criminal breach of trust.
He also said he was not only Chopra's secretary but also a film financier and had "invested" in her.
