Camera, FM radio, speaker to drive mobile phone upgrades: Study.

May 5--NEW DELHI -- Phones with camera, FM radio and speaker facility will be the main drivers for upgrades of mobile handsets, says research firm IDC.
And, contrary to perceptions and much hype around them, MMS (multimedia service) that allows sending and receiving pictures and GPRS (general packet radio service), which enables data to flow across mobile networks at higher speeds than older networks, haven't become popular enough to top the list for reasons for cellphone upgrade.
Said Parijat Chakraborty of IDC, "Despite a big push from vendors and service providers, the wide-spread hype around these services is coming down among the mass because of high service cost. People don't find much of data services of much relevance."
