CapGemini, Atos eye local acquisitions.
Economic Times (New Delhi, India), November, 2005
Nov. 25--MUMBAI, India -- French software services companies CapGemini and Atos Origin are eyeing acquisition targets in India, lured by the tremendous growth in offshore outsourcing.
Even European banks like ABN Amro have started looking at only Indian vendors for their outsourcing requirements. This has put European vendors such as CapGemini and Atos Origin under pressure. Both these companies have captive development centres in India, but they have not been able to grow them as fast as Accenture and IBM.
IBM has been able to scale up its development centres via acquisitions. CapGemini is said to be exploring the option of acquiring an E200-300m software services company in India. Atos Origin is looking at a captive centre for acquisition.
