DS Group pips REL to bag Rs 5,000-cr order.

Mar. 1--NEW DELHI -- Its debut in hydro power sector has been aggressive. DS Constructions (DSC), better known for building highways, has outbid heavyweights like Reliance Energy and JP Associates to bag a Rs 5,000 crore project in Arunachal Pradesh (AP).
Government has annou-nced a 50,000 MW hydro power initiative, of which 50 percent capacity will be created in AP alone. DSC has become the first private sector company to get a piece of such opportunity.
The company, whose order book has grown nearly 20 times from Rs 550 crore to Rs 10,000 crore in just four years, seems to have struck gold in the race to landscape India's mission-critical infrastructure.
