Sabre, Dubai co to set up local fund.

Mar. 22--MUMBAI, India -- SABRE Capital Worldwide has set up a private equity fund in partnership with Dubai-based private equity firm Abraaj Capital. The Sabre Abraaj Private Equity Fund will initially have a corpus of $250m and primarily invest in Indian companies.
Rana Talwar, chairman, Sabre Capital, is the chairman of the private equity fund. The investment committee will be chaired by Arif Naqvi, executive vice-chairman and CEO, Abraaj Capital, and Rajiv Maliwal, managing director, Sabre Capital, will be a member of the committee.
Abraaj Capital has a presence in private equity and alternate financing in the Middle East and North African markets. "We expect significant increase in the long-term capital flows from the Middle East into India....
