Nortel plans to realign product portfolio in India.

Jun. 8--MUMBAI, India -- As telecom operators move beyond voice as a source of revenue, equipment firm Nortel is consolidating its product portfolio in India to focus on areas where the company can capture at least 20 percent of the market. The Toronto-based firm is eyeing Wimax and IPTV, among others, to boost its topline.
"Nortel will operate in segments where we can have 20-25 percent market share. We will consolidate product groups, with a focus on Wimax, Internet Protocol Media Subsystem (IMS), IPTV and our enterprise portfolio," Sanjay Jotshi, VP-marketing, Nortel India, told ET.
"We'll change Nortel to suit the market and to be among the top two players in the next three years," he added.
