Avoid targeted ad war, Maruti, Hyundai told.

Oct. 14--NEW DELHI -- The Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission (MRTPC) told auto giants Maruti and Hyundai on Thursday not to target each other in advertisements and asked Maruti to reply to a complaint filed by the local arm of South Korean auto giant.
On a petition filed by Hyundai Motors India (HMIL) against a particular sales campaign by Maruti Udyog (MUL), an MRTPC bench headed by Justice OP Dwivedi asked the car market leader to file its reply on whether it had discontinued the advertisement or not. The commission observed that although it had not given any stay following the complaint filed by Hyundai, the parties should themselves stop targeting each other, said agency reports.
