Nov. 23--MUMBAI, India -- Ogilvy & Mather, the iconic advertising agency brand owned by WPP is splitting its brand into two -- in select markets, Ogilvy Advertising and Mather Communications are now distinct brands.

While everyone who has a nodding acquaintance with advertising will probably have heard of David Ogilvy, comparatively few people know anything about the elusive Mr. Mather, the second half of O&M.

But Mather is on its way to becoming more easily recognised. Officials at O&M confirm that Mather Communications will be either the second agency or a sub-brand of O&M.
