Dec. 3--Obsessive audiophile Ajay Chandwani is the sort of customer every marketer lusts after. He's maintained a rigorous, some would say insane upgrade cycle of a new hi-end audio system every three years or so for the last 15 years.
"When you come across something better, you feel a bit foolish sticking with what you've got. It's a very expensive hobby. If it means you have to get a better job, so be it," he says. He owns separate high-end audio and home theatre systems, both of which have been painstakingly assembled using the best permutations and combinations of components.
He speaks with the true enthusiasm of a fan about Mark Levinson creating the Rolls Royce of CD players and Magnaplaners enjoying the highest loyalty in their category....
