Delhi to take a metro ride for carbon credits.

Jan. 24--NEW DELHI -- After private companies, it is now the turn of the Delhi government to look at tapping the massive carbon credit opportunity. The Delhi government, has asked the World Bank to make a presentation to evaluate the ongoing and future initiatives including Delhi Metro Phase II and CFL lighting, that can be eligible for earning carbon credits.
"Power, transport and environment departments have major ongoing initiatives that could be eligible. The Delhi government will seize the opportunity in its various projects. The World Bank will tell us projects suitable for Delhi and the concerned secretaries will be present during the exercise," JK Dadoo, secretary, environment, Forest and Wild Life Delhi...
