Ranbaxy-GSK to develop respiratory drug.

Apr. 4--NEW DELHI -- Ranbaxy will develop a respiratory inflammation drug in collaboration GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), as part of their new multi-year R&D agreement, a Ranbaxy release on Monday said. Ranbaxy could get up to $100 million in potential milestone payments for a product developed by it and subsequently launched by GSK in multiple indications.
In addition, Ranbaxy stands to get double-digit royalties on worldwide sales of the drug, Ranbaxy said. The research programme will focus on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
As per the agreement between Ranbaxy's New Drug Discovery Research (NDDR) and GSK's Center of Excellence for External Drug Discovery (CEEDD), Ranbaxy will profile the drug candidate through pre clinical studies to support...
