                Colgate Announces Key Management Appointments 
 
    NEW YORK, Aug. 20, 2007 -- Colgate-Palmolive Company (NYSE: CL) announced 
today the appointment of four key executives to senior leadership positions 
reporting to Ian Cook, President and CEO. 
    In announcing the executive appointments, Mr. Cook said, "This highly 
experienced group of Colgate leaders has been deeply involved in the 
development and implementation of our current business strategy. In their 
respective roles they have all delivered excellent business results and 
demonstrated outstanding management skills.  These promotions will create an
