Beverage maker and bottler Buffalo Rock Co says it is the largest independent, family-owned Pepsi franchise in the US, and growing. The company's production facility in Birmingham, AL, feeds 13 warehouses and distribution centers in Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Despite struggling with high operating costs and family dissension, Buffalo plans to expand into vending, intent on making it a $100-million business by 2000.
