Tropicana takes Hong Kong by storm. (Seagram Beverage Group's Tropicana Dole Beverages International)

Tropicana Dole Beverages International now holds a fifth of the Hong Kong chilled juice market with its the Tropicana Pure Premium brand it introduced in 1994. The brand is not encountering difficulties because of a price that is more than double what US consumers pay, because of the high buying power of the Hong Kong population and the precedence that purity and health allegedly take in the Chinese diet, according to a manager from the company's Hong Kong office.

In less than two years, The Seagram Beverage Group's Tropicana Dole Beverages International unit has grabbed 20 percent of the chilled juice category in Hong Kong with its Tropicana Pure Premium brand, competiting against four or five regional juice companies.
