Skill, passion and a competitive drive are the defining qualities of great athletes, so it is only fitting that they also define the head of Quaker Oats Co.'s sports-inspired Gatorade division. Among the youngest executives to be named to a top position at Quaker, Sue Wellington is currently vice president and president of U.S. Beverages. Wellington began working with Gatorade as brand manager soon after its acquisition by Quaker in 1985. During her tenure, she has been responsible for consumer and channel marketing, on-premise development, international expansion, development of Gatorade's worldwide marketing infrastructure and the brand's long-range global positioning.
