A yogurt-based beverage developed by a group of food science students at Cornell University won the grand prize of $5,000 for "best overall" entry in the Fourth Annual Discoveries in Dairy Ingredients Contest sponsored by Dairy Management Inc., Rosemont, Ill. The Do It with Dairy program, funded by America's dairy farmers, supports the contest, which is designed to demonstrate the versatility and functionality of dairy ingredients.

The winning entry, Frescada, is a light-bodied lemon-lime or strawberry-carrot flavored juice and yogurt formulation, fortified with whey protein and active probiotic cultures.
