Despite increased pricing, talk about increased beer taxation in nine states and new malternative regulations, the beer/malternative category overal maintained steady growth and profits in 2002. While big producers like Miller Brewing Co. and Adolph Coors Co. focused their efforts on business restructuring, imports gave domestic premium brands a run for their money, and the low-carb trend took hold in the beer market.
