WorldCom customers may want a backup system.(TELECOM)
Kiplinger Letter, The, July, 2002
WorldCom customers may want to look into getting a backup system for telecom and Internet services. Though the FCC will make sure that services aren't cut as WorldCom undergoes bankruptcy proceedings, customers looking to expand their systems will likely run into delays. Competitors offering similar services in the U.S. are AT&T and Sprint. For international connections, look to AT&T and French-owned Equant.
It'll be spring before WorldCom reorganizes under Chapter 11. Retooling will likely force the company to sell some of its assets, possibly even its most valuable units, MCI and Web access giant UUNet.
