Applications now available for O'Fallon home-improvement loans

Applications for zero-interest, home-improvement loans are now available to O'Fallon homeowners at the O'Fallon Municipal Centre (City Hall), 100 N. Main St. Homeowners who qualify for the loan program are eligible to obtain one-time loans of up to $5,000 through the city's Community Development Block Grant program.

The city will begin accepting completed applications Feb. 21-24 at the Municipal Centre on a first-come-first-served basis. We have only so many openings and they are usually filled by people standing in line when City Hall opens on the first day, Tryla Brown, O'Fallon's CDBG administrator.

Eligible home repairs include the replacement of water heaters, sump pumps, siding and roofs. Ineligible expenditures include new construction, appliances and alarm...
