PROJECT OVERVIEW: Germany-based VOLKSWAGEN (VW) currently operates a vehicle assembly plant in Slovakia that has an installed production capacity of 125,000 vehicles per year. And, according to industry sources, VW has always been rather bullish on Slovakia. As a result the company recently decided to increase its production output by 125,000 cars per year. In so doing, VW is proposing to build a new production facility in Martin, Slovakia. Although the total cost of the new complex was not revealed a $240,000,000 price tag for a new lacquering plant alone is said to provide a good insight into the massive investment that VW is ready to make.
