Project Overview:

The local QATAR GENERAL PETROLEUM CORP. (QGPC) is currently gearing-up to upgrade the control systems on its NGL 1 and NGL 2 plants. These are considered to be the company's oldest natural gas liquids (NGL) units. In so doing, QGPC recently awarded a front-end-engineering and design (FEED) contract to France-based TECHNIP.

According to the terms of the award, TECHNIP will be responsible for the redesign and modernization of the process, control, power, telecommunications and instrumentation systems. In so doing, the project will reportedly be handled by TECHNIP's local subsidiary.
