PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The government of Henan Province, recently awarded a power plant construction contract to KOREA ELECTRIC POWER CORP. (KEPCO) of South Korea. According to the terms of the award, KEPCO will be responsible for building 2 coal-fired power stations in central China in collaboration with the provincial government.

Construction plans under consideration call for building units that will each have an installed generating capacity of 600 Mw. The power facilities, to be installed in Jiaozhou city, are expected to cost a total of $620,000,000 to build. Some 66.6% of this amount will be financed by an undisclosed Chinese bank.
