According to market research company STRATEGY ANALYTICS the automotive semiconductor market amounted to about $13,300,000,000 in calendar year 2003 growing by 14.1% from $11,500,000,000 in 2002. Due to strong penetration of electronics in vehicles as well as the ongoing substitution of semiconductor solutions for mechanical components, the worldwide automotive semiconductor market is expected to experience substantial growth of about 10% over the next few years.
