PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local EMPRESAS ICA SOCIEDAD CONTROLADORA S.A. DE C.V. was recently awarded a couple of construction contracts valued at a total of $130,00,000.

One contract, awarded by the government of Mexico, will involve the refurbishment of the Irapuato-La Piedad expressway in the state of Guanajuato. In so doing, the federal government will pay ICA to upgrade the toll-free highway over a 20-year period. The cost to complete the project has been pegged at $68,000,000.

Another $62,000,000 contract calls for the: - Repair of facilities at Mexico's international airport; - Restoration of 2,100 rooms in hotels managed by Palace Resort in Cancun that suffered damages as a result of the Wilma Hurricane.
