PROJECT OVERVIEW

Singapore-based SP CHEMICALS LTD. recently obtained approval from China's National Environmental Protection Bureau (NEPB) for its planned power station. Although still subject to certain conditions, construction plans under consideration call for building a 60 Mw co-generation plant.

As things currently stand, the NEPB had instructed the Jiangsu Province Environmental Protection Bureau to review, and ensure that the terms and conditions imposed on SP CHEMICALS are met.

In any case, when the co-generation plant becomes operational, SP CHEMICALS expects to have sufficient electricity and steam to start the commercial operations of its phase 4 production capacity expansion plan. This upgrade project will reportedly involved...
