CLARKSBURG - Throughout his career, Steptoe & Johnson partner Ralph J. Bean Jr. has put his time and abilities to work in service of economic development in the state.

"When you're in business, you want to see the business climate improve you want to see the economy improve," Bean said. "There's nothing more fundamental than that."

A native of Moorefield, Bean's early history includes undergraduate and law degrees at West Virginia University, a master of law degree from Harvard University, work as corporate counsel with the Chesapeake and Potomac telephone companies and election chief with then-Secretary of State Jay Rockefeller.
