Laid Off Armstrong Workers Likely Will Be Rehired

Most of the 60 workers laid off in February at the Armstrong Hardwood Flooring plant in Randolph County likely will get their jobs back during the busy summer season, according to a company spokesperson.

But the Beverly plant's parent company, Armstrong World Industries, is looking at a number of alternatives for the company, including possibly selling it, said Meg Graham, vice president of corporate communication for Armstrong World Industries.

The wood flooring plant, built in 1990, continues to operate without any plans to close, she said. The plant employs more than 1,000 people and is the largest employer in Randolph County.
