Wheeling Hospital to Launch Outreach Program

Wheeling Hospital is launching an East Wheeling Outreach to make free health care screenings more readily available to some of the people who most need them.

Ronald L. Violi, the hospital's chief executive officer, said community leaders had told them of the need for health screenings. He said to reach as many residents as possible, it only made sense "to take our services to them."

"As a faith-based hospital, one with a deep commitment to serving those in need, we were pleased and eager to help," he said.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Angelo Georges said the area has been underserved in the past.

"We found out the majority of adults in the area don't really have a primary physician, and even more so a majority of the children don't have a pediatrician," he said....
