Geothermal Heat Pumps Tap Earth's Energy, Offer Savings

Many americans don't often think of the Earth's moderate and consistent ground temperature as a natural resource, but some people are tapping it and saving money in the process.
They're doing it through the use of the geothermal heat pump, an energy efficient alternative to conventional heating and air conditioning.
"It's the only way to go," said Frank Folio, owner of A/C Heating and Air Conditioning Co. in Ritchie County.
The system works on the principle of refrigeration.
