ACQUISITIONS AND MERGERS - Texaco take-over looks likely

The take-over of Texaco Chemical by Huntsman Corp looks likely to be completed within the next few weeks following all necessary anti-trust approval being given by the US Department of Justice. Announcement of the take-over was made in September 1993. Since then teams from both companies have been working closely to finalise the transaction, reports Plastics & Rubber Weekly (Croydon, UK). "The US Department of Justice has given all necessary Hart-Scott-Rodino anti-trust approval to proceed with this acquisition", says Jon Huntsman, chairman and chief executive officer to the Huntsman group of companies.
