ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES - Recycle-content engineering grades from GE
High Performance Plastics, August, 1994
Six grades of recycled-content engineering resins have been introduced by GE Plastics. All six grades boast a minimum of 25% recycled material content (mostly from post-consumer sources, but also from moulding scrap). Designated as RE grades, the resins are targeted at original equipment manufacturers that call for 25% or more recycled content materials in finished products by the year 2000. Among the new products are:
* Cycolac REC550, general-purpose, medium-impact acrylonitrile- butadiene -styrene (ABS) grade;
* Lexan REL350, similar in performance to virgin Lexan EM311OR and is earmarked for car applications;
* Lexan REL340, general-purpose, injection moulding grade with medium flow/impact properties;
