A high performance condensation polymer for use in a variety of demanding applications is offered by Eastman Chemical Co, of Kingsport, Tennessee, USA. The polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) material, called Eastman PEN Homopolymer 14991, will find applications in high performance fibres and monofilaments, speciality films, films for use in capacitors and flexible circuit boards, thermoforms, medical devices and moulded parts, says the firm. It is offered in both high and low molecular weight formulae to satisfy the application and performance needs of the customers.
