FINANCIAL: Ultramid prices still going up

BASF is again increasing prices for Ultramid nylon with effect from 1 January 1995. Unfilled grades for injection moulding applications are to cost DM0.3/kg more, and filled grades DM0.6/kg more. In countries experiencing weak currencies, the price rise will be more significant, says the firm. At the same time, film grades will be subject to an across-the-board price rise of DM0.6/kg. The reasons for this are because of unsatisfactory earnings and a further rise in feedstock prices, says BASF. The demand for Ultramid means that production plants are running at full capacity.
