In-plant recycling of flash, offcut and reject parts is a standard practice - but it gets more difficult as the parts get larger.

UK drum-manufacturer Rexam Harcostar is able to regranulate reject 120-litre HDPE chemical drums in one stage, without the need to chop them into useable fragments with the aid of a pair of Blackfriars 62/60 granulators. The company was also looking for reliable engineering and a competitive price.

Operating at its plant in Disley, Cheshire, the granulators now play a key role in carrying out Harcostar's policy of utilising the economic and environmental benefits of recycling.
