High-gloss styrenic polymer. (Materials).

A styrenic polymer with high impact and gloss properties for applications such as small appliances and housewares has been introduced by Nova Chemicals, USA.
Called FX550, the new grade is said to feature high melt flow characteristics, is easily coloured and does not require drying. Further, it is stated to be easier to process than ABS.
The first applications for the new FX550 are refrigerator shelves and office supplies, which exhibit excellent high gloss and durability.
Other potential applications include vacuum cleaner housings, toys, kitchen and bath accessories, cosmetic packaging and point-of-purchase displays.
FX 550 is being made available in North America and Europe.
