Heat-resistant PA.(MATERIALS)

Mitsui Chemicals Inc, Japan, has begun the production of a resistant PA that can be used in connectors and other electronic components compatible with lead-free solder. The new grade has a melting point of 320[degrees]C.
The company plans to sell the resin to domestic and foreign electronic parts manufacturers working to switch to lead-free solder in preparation for a European ban on use of lead in electronic components that takes effect in July 2006.
The company says it aims to produce 3000 t of the resin in 2006. By fiscal 2010, it plans to double production to 6000 t.
