Teijin boosts PC production in China.(COMPANY NEWS)

Teijin Chemicals Ltd, Japan, part of Teijin Chemicals Ltd, is to add a third production line at Teijin Polycarbonate China Ltd., its wholly owned subsidiary, in response to growing demand for PC resins in China.

The new production line will be dedicated to industrial-use resins, the company says. Annual output at the plant will rise 60 000 t, taking the company's total PC production capacity in China to 160 000 t.

The line will be based in the Zhejang Province, and will involve an estimated capital expenditure of around [yen]11 billion (about $90 million). Construction is planned to begin in August 2007, with production starting in March 2009.
