BASF ABS receives galvanization certificate.(MATERIALS)

BASF AG, Germany, says that two standard types in its ABS product line can be galvanized. This has been certified by the Luedenscheid Plastics Institute, Germany, following galvanization tests in their own technical laboratory and after laboratory studies. (See also, picture on page 1.)

The two graded--Terluran GP-35 and GP-22--were put through a series of tests using Deutsches Institut fur Normung eV (DIN), Germany, and International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Switzerland, standards. These included:

* cross-cut tests;

* storage under heat;

* alternating-climate storage;

* determination of peel strength.
