Honduras has joined the World Intellectual Property Organization?s treaty to protect musicians from digital piracy.

The WIPO Phonograms and Performances Treaty is expected to bring international copyright law into line with the digital age. Organisers hope with the introduction of the treaty in May, performing artists, such as singers and musicians, and record companies and composers, will be able to create, distribute, trade and control their work in the digital environment.
