BT starts online micropayment system.(Brief Article)

BT said it is launching an internet micropayment service in the UK allowing consumers to make small purchases online that could eventually be charged on their phone bill.

The company said its payment system creates a central account for purchases from various online content providers, so consumers can pay as they go, rather than sign up for subscriptions.

"BT micropayments gives the customer the equivalent of shopping with loose change online," said BT Retail?s Angus Porter.
