Vodafone extends micropayment service.

UK mobile giant, Vodafone, has launched its new m-pay micropayment service which aims to increase the speed of payment for goods over the internet or via WAP phones with credit and debit cards.

The new service continues on from M-pay bill, which Vodafone launched last February but works only for transactions between GBP0.05 (7.9 eurocents) and GBP5 (E7.96). As users receive a bill from the operator, the M-pay bill service does not rely on debit or credit cards.

Jim Wadsworth, head of m-commerce at Vodafone UK, said: "We had a strategic need to open up micro mobile payments with m-pay bill. The m-pay card service completes the family.
