Today, specially designed robots q are entering the cleanroom environment to automate transportation, assembly and material-handling chores - streamlining operations and reducing particle-generating activities. For instance, Panasonic Factory Automation (PFA), a division of Matsushita Electric Corp. of America, offers a variety of proven cleanroom robotics systems for the handling of wafers, disks, LCDs, MLCs, and for the assembly of disk drives and other special subsystems.
